Replacement Scoreboard Kit for Chexx™
This will replace your existing electronics PCB assys in the original Ice Chexx Bubble Hockey game. The Chexx scoreboard is no longer made or supported by I.C.E. (Innovative Concepts in Entertainment, Inc. ) so we decided to take matters into our own hands and create a replacement kit for those aging scoreboards.
It is not for Super Chexx which has a different version.
New Kit includes:
Full set of PCBs, 2 display boards, 1 control board, LED playfield light, Lens Adapters
All new components and re-designed PCB's with enhancements.
Modular design eliminate all those interconnecting wires for easy assembly.
We replaced the hard to get and expensive 74LS47 display driver chips with readily available 4511 chips.
Using single 7-digit displays as opposed to the dual version to make it easier to change if needed in the future.
The old I C E square white lamps (no replacements available) that were used for the periods have been replaced with a more traditional red LED's to show the periods.
The 2 automotive 12 volt lamps used for the playfield lighting have been replaced with super nice looking white LED's, makes the "ice" really stand out! No more yellow looking ice!!
We eliminated the power wasting heat sources, so that noisy fan is no longer needed! (It's just a big spacer now.)
Installation is plug-n-play, just remove all the guts in your existing scoreboard, install our new PCB kit and you'll be up an running again in about an hour.
Note, the picture of the white LED's done on the playfield is not exactly as real life, it shows as a round area, but it really spreads the light nicely, we couldn't get a good shot of this.
We have parts available for a new 8 pin ribbon cable. This new cable has crimp style terminations to replace the old and unreliable IDC (insulation displacement connectors). We have also added 10 pin housings with key pins to avoid the accidental connection of the cable. (The cable available from I.C.E. still uses IDC connectors).
We will be making some of these, keep an eye out for the listing, we will post when we make a few, but let us know if you are interested.

Our Complete Scoreboard Assembly for the Original CHEXX Hockey is a complete ready to go Scoreboard, just unplug your old scoreboard and plug this one in!
New design, but look like the original. Include nice LED lights for the I.C.E. period lamps. LED lamps for the down facing surface lights.
Also includes your choice of team names if you like.
The labels snap into the scoreboard and are replacable if you change your players in the future!
Original labels like HOME/AWAY, USA/CANADA, USA/RUSSIA, etc.
